About Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga
The Chōjū-giga, or "Scrolls of Frolicking Animals," is a famous set of four 12th- and 13th-century ink-wash scrolls. Widely called the "oldest manga," they depict anthropomorphic rabbits, frogs, and monkeys acting like humans. They are preserved at Kōzan-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.
